I've thought about it long and hard and I'm just going to do it. Well, actually...I have done it. I've started my own community for John Smith/Joan Redfern. Please, please go check it out and help spread the word!

Quick little update. Not doing too much, really. This is my last full week of relaxation before I start summer school, so I'm trying to rest as much as I can. :P

My mom and I are halfway through the films we've rented. I watched Casino Royale this afternoon first. I really don't know how I feel about Daniel Craig's portrayal of James Bond. He's so extreme, rough, and just has this devil-may-care attitude that's insane. Now I can't be too hard on him because it is his first crack at the character, so I know he'll need more time to figure him out. I will say it's quite a change from the typical Bond, which I did like at times. I think that Craig is attractive in a bad boy sort of way. He does have these incredible blue eyes that just pull you in. And he sure can kick some serious ass! He had everything imaginable done to him, poor guy. The movie was a bit too long in my opinion. I'll give Craig more time to get a feel for the role. Not bad for a beginner, though. I still would have preferred Gerard Butler or even...*points to icon* But David would have to bulk up big time!

The one that really surprised me was The Queen. I thought I'd be asleep within the first minute, but I was hooked from the start. It was so interesting and thought-provoking. Helen Mirren was phenomenal. She completely immersed herself in the role that for a while, you forgot who she really was. I can see why she won the Oscar now. My mom and I were pleasantly surprised with this movie. This is another one worth seeing.

Well, that's it for movie reviews. We've got three more to go. I think tomorrow I'll finally do another icon post, so be on the lookout for that. Take care everyone.

YAY, it's Friday!! I rushed home to download David on the Graham Norton show and the DW version of "The Weakest Link". Graham Norton is still as bonkers as ever. They used to show him on Comedy Central here in the U.S., so I'm glad I got to watch him again. I'll admit, most of it was pretty crude but David was a great sport. Best part: when David posed for that picture Graham was going to send to that random guy that responded to that hilarous personal ad. Gotta love the tongue!porn. *hee* I was so shocked that David actually called him after the text message that guy sent him. Crazy! As for "The Weakest Link", I have this to say to Noel and Camille: TRAITORS! David was the strongest link! But I swear, when he helped Andrew out on that one question about the device that Nick uses to make the Dalek voice, I really thought he was going to get kicked off. That was too funny! The whole show was entertaining. I haven't seen "The Weakest Link" in years. It used to be on here in the U.S. but I had no clue it was still going on. And poor K-9, getting no love! But I loved David's reaction when they kicked K-9 off. He really looked sad! My mom and I just went, "AWW!"

Hmm...something is going on tomorrow. What is it? I know it's something really, really, really, really, really important. What is it?? Oh, yeah...

DOCTOR WHO SERIES 3 PREMIERE!!!!!!!

A part of me is heartbroken since I won't be able to see it on the day. But as soon as the generous fangirls upload it, I'm unplugging my phone. LOL! All right, that's it for now. Must go to bed in a while since I have a volunteer gig tomorrow early in the morning at the Food Bank. Have a great weekend everyone! Cheers!

After the crappy and stressful day I had yesterday, full of wasted time and an overdose of girl talk with my two favorite orchestra ladies (mostly dealing with how men are just so stupid and how our love lives have gone from possible to non-existent), I'm so freakin' excited to find these things to make me smile.

First, the new "Pirates" trailer! OMG, it just looks so amazing and thrilling! LOTS of big and epic action scenes. Jack is back, baby!

Second, I finished reading my second Doctor Who novel "The Stone Rose". Great story and the author really got the characters down, including the Doctor/Rose chemistry. Now all I have to do is listen to David read it...I know, such a hard thing to do. ;)

Finally, only 10 more days until "Doctor Who" starts again. And what the hell do I find? LOTS of new promo pics with David and Freema looking sexier than ever. Also, there's going to be a Doctor Who version of "The Weakest Link" and David's playing. I know he'll kick everyone's ass! LOL! But the biggest shocker/lovely surprise I found was this high-res pic from the first episode of the season premiere. Warning: BIG SPOILER! Granted, I think there's a perfectly good explanation for this...

I want to be Freema!Collapse )

TGIF!!! Thank goodness. These past two days have been kind of stressful. I had two exams, one on Wednesday for my 16th Century Prose & Poetry and then my CIS exam yesterday. Both I think went so-so. I hope that everything wasn't a complete disaster.

I forgot to mention that I did watch The Number 23 last weekend with my dad. It was your basic suspense thriller. Reminded me a lot of Secret Window with Johnny Depp. Why do writers always have to go crazy? LOL! Anyway, Jim Carrey was actually fairly good. It's nice to see actors do different roles. Fun thing was I got to drive my mom up a wall after I saw it, trying to find any representations of 23 in my life. Just to name a few: the year I was born (1+9+8+5=23), the year I graduated (2+0+0+3=23), my favorite soft drink (Dr. Pepper has 23 ingredients), and the time I was born (2:30 pm). Yeah, so enough of that. I'm so excited tonight because I get to see Gerard Butler on Jay Leno!! It's been forever since he's been on a talk show, so I can't wait!

And speaking of more beautiful Scottish lads, thanks to the wonderful fangirls at tennant_love, I was able to download "Recovery". Due to my exams, I had to wait until today to watch it. I was going mad. Well, I just finished it right now and I'm just in awe. David Tennant was just brilliant. I could use so many other words to describe his performance, but it would be a super long entry. That man better get nominated next year for a BAFTA, that's all I'm saying. Geez, and at the end he made me cry like a baby. Same goes for Sarah Parish, who I think kind of stole the show. She was just a powerhouse. The issue of brain injury is something I've been seeing a lot of, especially with all the coverage of ABC news anchor Bob Woodruff. He also suffered a brain injury when he got hit by a bomb in Iraq. I watched some of his story this week and what got me all choked up was hearing about how his wife handled the whole thing. It was very similar to what Sarah's character went through. I really don't know how people in real life are able to cope with something like this happening to their loved ones. All I can say is they're incredibly strong and loving people to stick it through. It really is a day by day, minute by minute process. I was just completely moved by this movie. So amazing, heavy, and thought-provoking. David and Sarah better get some awards!

All right kiddies. Be sure to watch Gerry tonight! Have a great weekend! Cheers!
